Amy Bird RGN, INP, PGDip is an award-winning aesthetic nurse practitioner, international speaker, educator and recognised clinical leader within medical aesthetics. With over a decade of full-time experience in the specialty, she is Clinical Director of KAST Medical Aesthetics, an award-winning, CQC-registered clinic where she leads a multidisciplinary team and continues to practise at an advanced clinical level.
Amy is known for her assessment-led, individualised approach to aesthetic medicine, moving beyond treatment of isolated indications to consider the patient as a whole. Her clinical interests include advanced facial assessment, targeted and natural rejuvenation, multimodal treatment and longitudinal aesthetic planning. This philosophy underpins her work as an international speaker, trainer and faculty member, delivering advanced clinical education in the UK and internationally.
Alongside clinical practice, Amy plays an influential role in the development of professional standards within the specialty. She is Chair of the British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN) and a Trustee of the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP). She is also a co-contributor to the 2026 BAMAN Competency Framework, helping to shape contemporary standards for knowledge, skills and professional practice within medical aesthetics.
Amy holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Cosmetic Injectable Practice and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, reflecting her particular interest in clinical education, competency and how practitioners are taught, assessed and supported to develop safe, autonomous practice. She also contributes to international clinical research and the continued development of evidence-based aesthetic medicine.
A published author and columnist at Aesthetic Medicine, Amy regularly writes on clinical practice, education and the evolving aesthetics specialty. Her expertise has also been featured in British Vogue and Stylist, bringing her clinical perspective to a wider audience.
In 2026, Amy was named Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner of the Year, recognising her contribution to clinical practice, education and the profession. Through her combined work as a clinician, educator, speaker and professional leader, Amy is passionate about advancing aesthetic medicine through better assessment, stronger clinical reasoning, evidence-based education and uncompromising standards of patient care.
